The Ruse
Book jacket design for Tomas Cizek's The Ruse
The design of this piece was influenced by the beadwork of the African Maasai people.
Most of my geometric designs are perfectly symmetrical along the vertical axis of the skull. I broke away from that trend with this skull. The ‘crown’ (below the horns and above the eye sockets) is free and asymmetrical- lots of triangles and bands of color.
The radial pattern around the eye sockets resemble traditional Maasai ceremonial disk-necklace.
