Mexican Hat Deer Skull
Carter Watkins 2020
seed beads, beeswax, on deer skull
15.5” X 17” X 12”
When I started this skull the Texas Wildflower season was in its late stages. The Mexican Hat flowers are always the last to come up before the heat of the summer sets in and kills all the green vegetation from the spring. There are 6 beaded Mexican hat flowers, 2 salvia variants under the horns on the sides, some leafs, grass, and vegetation around the snout.
This piece uses over 15 different colors of beads.
This is my eighth piece of bead art made during the covid-19 social isolation lockdown.
